Clarksfield is located close to Glodwick, Greeancres and Lees, whilst still being only a short distance from Oldham Town Centre. FirstBus provides frequent bus services running to Oldham Town Centre, Manchester and Saddleworth.

Leesbrook Nature Park is a number of sites stretching from Greenacres Road/Dunham Street, Greenacres all the way down to Abbey Hills Road at Holts Village, it is a great place for wildlife, walking, cycling and horse riding and children can use the playscape on Constantine Street for play, exercise, exploration and confidence building. The area has play stop-offs, these are informal features that encourage children and their families to use the river valley and former railway track as routes to walk and cycle on, and to get to the playscape.
